La gestión académica 2010 en la Universidad Católica Boliviana "San Pablo" empezó con más de 5.000 estudiantes en las 21 carreras a nivel licenciatura, además de 400 docentes y personal administrativo de apoyo, bajo la dirección del Rector Nacional, Hans van den Berg y el vicerrector Erick Roth Unzueta.
Para este primer semestre de la gestión 2010, la Universidad Católica Boliviana abrió una nueva carrera, Ingeniería Biomédica, que capacitará a profesionales para la concepción, operación y mantenimiento del equipo sofisticado que ya existe en el mercado en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de diversas enfermedades.
También se ofrece la carrera de Psicopedagogía, que promueve la educación con factores humanos, sociales y culturales. Esta tendencia respalda a la carrera de Psicología que tiene una gran demanda por la formación que ofrece en sus niveles de pre y post grados de calidad.
La tendencia, por el número de estudiantes que se inscribieron a la Universidad Católica Boliviana, muestra que las carreras con alto contenido tecnológico, su aplicación en generación de equipos o servicios para ayudar a mejorar la producción, como son Ingeniería Mecatrónica, Ingeniería Biomédica,, Ingeniería Civil, Sistemas, Ambiental e Industrial, tienen la mayor demanda de los estudiantes.
Las carreras en el ámbito del comercio, las exportaciones, el marketing, también han tenido una importante respuesta, como son Administración de Empresas, Ingeniería Comercial, Administración Turística y Contaduría Pública y Economía.
La tercera área de importancia en la respuesta de nuevos estudiantes está en Diseño Gráfico y Comunicación Visual, Arquitectura, Ciencias de la Comunicación Social, muestra que en la sociedad actual existe una fuerte demanda de profesionales con excelente formación para cubrir éstas áreas profesionales.
